UK Body Flight World Challenge 2009
I have just arrived on site of the Body Flight World Challenge and the atmosphere here is definitely electric.

Apparently due to the demand of pre-competition tunnel time the wind tunnel will be operating 24 hours.
There are several of the worlds top teams on site including teams from France, USA, Sweden and Belgium. There is only one entrance into the tunnel and it is interesting to watch the teams taking linked 4way exits into the tunnel.
Cookie Composites has set up is booth in the viewing area and we have a few sizes of our new GAS and Ozone helmets on site. Come pass and play with the revolutionary intelligent shock protection material d3o.

The Bodyflight World Challenge has come to an end. Last years winners Arizona Airspeed again proved to strong posting a 28.8 avg followed by Perris Fury with 27.7 avg and Belgium Hayabusa Defence with 27.5 avg.
The most impressive round was that of Perris Fury posting a 59 points on round 4.
Craig Girrard from Arizona Airspeed use the new Cookie Composites GAS full face helmet for the duration of the competition and was impressedwith the helmets perfomance .
Below is a photo of Craig who is about to enter the tunnel for round 10

Australian National Skydiving Championships 2009-03-20
The 2009 Nationals has drawn to a close. The perfect weather for the preceding 5 days has allowed the competition to be completed in record time.
All though the attendance was low the camaraderie and close competition is always a high light.
A big thanks goes out to the Judges, Meet direct Johnny Mac and Sydney Skydivers for hosting the event. A special mention to Theo the PAC pilot for doing a stellar job handling our 120kg camera guy up the back. I must also mention the great packers.
My team Violent Uprising had a fantastic competition for a scratch team posting an 11.0 avg.
Cookie Composites new GAS helmet stood up to the competiton and the feedback on our new design has been extremely positive.
I will be heading over to the Bedford World Wind Tunnel Challenge later next week so if you in the neighborhood please come and pay us a visit.
The final scores for the competition are.

Australian National Skydiving Championships 2009-03-16
Our 8way team got our one and only training jump in late yesterday. The light was fading so we only got to exit at 8500’. So Violent Up Rising is officially trained.
The 4way draw and medal presentations were done soon after we landed.
Team OOkoonono won the 2 way CRW with a 10 point avg over 8 rounds with Bash and Slash posting second.

Swedish Anders from Omniskore is onsite to take care of the technical side of the FS Judging.
The Team numbers were drawn followed by the 4 way FS draw. At face value the draw looks very straight up with a random burner on round #3. As there as been an Intermediate FS rule change this year all previous Australian Records for this event are officially reset, meaning new records for highest single scoring round and overall event average is up for grabs.
Wheels off is at 8.00am and the following teams are registered
4 way FS Open
401 Sticks and Stones
402 Sorted
403 Black
404 Fartamorgunna
405The Team that is not good enough for James Boyle
406 Rotor – Out
4 way FS Intermediate

202 Silence of the Lambs
203 Kaos
204 Filming Four Flying Fools

Australian National Skydiving Championships 2009-03-15
I have just arrive at Sydney Skydivers for the Australian national Championships .

The weather is a perfect 29 deg C with nice 5 knots on the ground. The DZ as been well prepared and the jump plane for the competition is the PAC 750
Currently the 2 way CRW competition is under way with two teams registered. Team Ookoonono with Jules, Michael and Crash are the favorites for this event as they are the current Australian Team.
I have had a chance to catch up with most competitors and get the gossip on the prospective medal winning teams.
There has been a few line up changes from previous nationals. The 4way team Airtite (Last Years Aussie Team) have disbanded which leaves the door open for a new national team to emerge.

Team BLACK is one of these team. Primarily constructed from two Airtite members and two of last years Silver medalist C4. They have only completed 60 jumps prior to this competiton and are looking like the favourites. Team ROTOR-OUT comprising of ex Aussie Champs Stephanie, Gary, Darren and a ring in from Germany Jens. Jens was a member of the German EADS Team that competed at previous world championships with scores of +19 Avg. This will be a hot battle in the 4 way Open.

From the Intermediate teams perspective there seems to be only one favorite. Team KAOS has been putting in the efforts this year completing quite a few training camps at Nagambie .
I am competing on a 8 way Open Team call Violent Uprising. We are completing our 1 jump training camp this after noon and I’m feeling confident we take it to a new level.
The 4 way draw will be done tonight with competition starting first ting Monday morning.
More up dates to follow

Mark from Hypoxic did few jumps from Skydive Arizona's (Eloy) Freefly money meet that was captured with Sony's latest AVCHD camcorder. A standard def .3x lens was used during most of the jumps since the closeness of the subject and I did not have access to a .3 high def lens at the time. There are a few .5x HD lens scenes. Thanks go out to Cynthia Currie and Steve Curtis for some great video. All jumps used the HYPEYE D PRO from Hypoxic for control
(dee-three-oh) is a specially engineered material made with intelligent molecules. They flow with you as you move but on shock lock together to absorb the impact energy.
What does it mean for Skydivers to have
in the new Cookie Helmets?
Traditional skydiving helmet liners are made from a range of material like PE and EVA with an exterior comfort covering. Whilst these materials are fantastic for thermo forming and comfort there ability to transmitt impact forces is limiting.
Looking at the
graph you can easily determine that the
material surpases other materias in it's ability to transmit forces.
